Why Springbrook Montessori Academy?

We Meet Children Where They Are

Springbrook Montessori Academy promotes an active, hands-on approach to learning that supports a lifetime of excellence. Within our carefully prepared environment, children are constantly stimulated through their own natural desires for knowledge. As a result, our students develop a passion for learning. This enables them to become confident and follow a path of discovery, respecting the people and world around them.

Montessori is a method of teaching that focuses on the most complete development of the whole child. The method was developed by the late Italian physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952) and has grown by its success to international proportions and a highly esteemed reputation.

Dr Maria Montessori believed that each child is born with a unique potential to be revealed, rather than as a "blank slate" waiting to be written upon. In 1907 she began work with a group of sixty young children of working parents in the San Lorenzo (slums) district of Rome. It was there that she founded the first Casa dei Bambini, or "Children's House." What ultimately became the Montessori method of education developed there, based upon Montessori's scientific observations of these children's almost effortless ability to absorb knowledge from their surroundings, as well as their tireless interest in manipulating materials. Every piece of equipment, every exercise, every method Montessori developed was based on what she observed children to do "naturally," by themselves, unassisted by adults.

Springbrook Montessori adheres to Montessori methods of early childhood education, which encourages an active, hands-on approach to early childhood learning that is designed to inspire and empower the wholeness of your child for a lifetime of excellence. At Springbrook Montessori, children are constantly stimulated through their own natural desires for knowledge. This inspires in the child a passion for learning and the confidence to follow a path of discovery while respecting others and the world around them. The school offers a variety of programs for children of different ages.

Children are the most precious part of our present life and they are the world's future generation. We should also remember - when we want to build a better world and better future, we definitely should start with our children - the future of the world.
